X-Rays

Digital X-rays are commonly used to visualize the chest, airways, spine and bones. This is a form of X-ray imaging where digital X-ray sensors are utilized. Advantages include time efficiency and the ability to digitally transfer images.

No appointment is necessary for an X-ray with Fenelon Falls Diagnostic. Simply walk-in to your local practice with your referral. During Covid lockdown periods, Fenelon Falls Diagnostic prefers all patients ring the practice prior to arrival for initial screening.

DIGITAL X-RAY:

A Digital X-Ray, also known as radiography, is an easy, non-invasive, and painless procedure. Digital X-Rays are the oldest and most commonly used form of medical imaging. While a small portion of your body is exposed to low-dose radiation in order to provide our radiologist with the diagnostic information, you need not fear any long-term after-effects.

MAMMOGRAPHY X-RAY

A mammogram, or mammography, is an X-ray of the breast. It is a screening tool used to detect and diagnose breast cancer. Together with regular clinical exams and monthly breast self-examinations, mammograms are a key element in the early diagnosis of breast cancer. We here at Fenelon Falls Diagnostic are pleased to offer the latest in technology in the form of 3D mammography. 3D mammography is a new technology in the fight against breast cancer that allows doctors to examine your breast tissue one layer at a time. 3D mammography uses high-powered computing to convert digital breast images into a stack of very thin layers or “slices”– building what is essentially a “3-dimensional mammogram.” A good analogy for 3D mammography is like thinking of the pages in a book. If you look down at the cover you cannot see all of the pages, but when you open it up, you can go through the entire book page-by-page to see everything between the covers. 3D mammography is designed with the same concept in mind.
